Jaws fans should get ready to circle as a forthcoming auction is set to feature a pair of rare finds timed to the recent 50th anniversary of Steven Spielberg‘s classic thriller.
In March 2026, Propstore’s Spring Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will include the screen- and photo-matched W.W. Greener Harpoon Rifle Mark II, along with matching case and custom effects-made shark dart, used by Quint, as played by the late Robert Shaw. The auction will also feature Quint’s screen- and photo-matched Fenwick 130-pound fishing rod and production-used Penn Senator 16/0 reel.
The Greener harpoon launcher was the weapon of choice for Quint and Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) when their focus on the shark turned serious, and its case is also featured in the film. The item has a presale value estimate ranging from $250,000 to $500,000. Additionally, the Fenwick rod that is used aboard the Orca early in the movie to help establish the creature’s massive size is estimated to sell for upwards of $150,000. Revered as the quintessential summer blockbuster, Jaws hit theaters June 20, 1975, and was a culture-defining smash that became the highest-grossing feature of all time. It earned four Oscar nominations, including best picture, and nabbed three trophies. Hero-level props from the movie’s shoot rarely reach the public market.

These two pieces are certainly some of the most significant ever offered at public auction, with the harpoon launcher bearing extra significance due to how extensively it is featured in the film and how much of a role it plays in the plot of the film,” Propstore’s chief operating officer Brandon Alinger says in a statement. “In our 30 years in the prop and costume industry, this is the single finest Jaws piece Propstore has ever seen. Its appearance now, at the film’s 50th anniversary, makes this rediscovery all the more remarkable.”
Registrations for Propstore’s Los Angeles-based Spring Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction are set to open in February, timed to the release of the official catalog. Live bidding will take place in March.
The company’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction was held over the weekend and included Boba Fett’s blaster from The Empire Strikes Back selling for $607,068. Additionally, a number of props from James Van Der Beek’s personal collection from his time on the sets of Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues raised over $47,000 for his cancer recovery.
