Ron Howard’s ‘Alone at Dawn’ Rounds Out Cast With Sean Kaufman, Devon Bostick and More (Exclusive)

Ron Howard‘s forthcoming Amazon MGM Studios feature Alone at Dawn is building out its company.

Devon Bostick, Michael Angelo Covino, Lauren Hutton, Sean Kaufman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine and José Zúñiga have joined the cast of the military drama feature, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. Adam Driver, Anne Hathaway and Betty Gilpin were previously announced to star in the movie that is set to be released theatrically.

Inspired by a true story, Alone at Dawn centers on an investigation following the death of Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman that would help lead to the Medal of Honor for his efforts in saving his fellow soldiers. The project is part of Amazon MGM’s recently renewed first-look film deal with Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment.

Jonathan Ajayi, Austin Amelio, Jon Bass, Rohan Campbell, Henry Garrett, Sam Nelson Harris and Ben Weinswig round out the cast.

Howard directs the film from a script by Michael Russell Gunn with revisions by Erin Cressida Wilson and Amy Herzog. It adapts authors Dan Schilling and Lori Longfritz’s 2019 book of the same name. Producers include Howard, Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum for Imagine Entertainment; Jonathan Gray and Matthew Rhodes for The Hideaway Entertainment; and Ron West for Thruline Entertainment. Also producing are Kristy Grisham, William Connor and Patrick Newall, while Michael Russell Gunn executive produces.
