One man, David Nathaniel Barron, died from gunshot wounds and one woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg. The suspected gunman was identified as Albert Shell Jr., 39.Working with the United States Marshals Service (Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force), Shell was taken into custody. No further information was immediately released. A news conference will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday and WESH will stream in the video player above. Mayor Ben Marciano released the following statement:”First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victim. I’m so grateful for all of the law-enforcement that were involved in apprehending the suspect, especially the Ocala Police Department. They have worked tirelessly since the time of the shooting to make sure justice was served. Early Monday morning, the Ocala Police Department announced that the suspected gunman in a deadly shooting at Paddock Mall has been arrested.
Days before Christmas, shots rang out inside the mall located at 3100 SW College Road in Ocala. One man, David Nathaniel Barron, died from gunshot wounds and one woman suffered a gunshot wound to her leg.
The suspected gunman was identified as Albert Shell Jr., 39.
Working with the United States Marshals Service (Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force), Shell was taken into custody.
