Nikki Haley Supporters Aren’t Optimistic She Can Be GOP Nominee

Rachael Imm, 53, who works with animals and her husband backed Nikki Haley at her caucus in Urbandale, Iowa, outside Des Moines. “She’s more middle of the road,” Imm said. She said she liked how Haley talked about abortion in a more open way than some of the other candidates and felt she could win a general election.

But Imm said she was not optimistic that Haley could beat Trump for the nomination. “I really wish that I think she would, I just think there are too many people out there,” who support him. “I don’t know why they think he can win because he didn’t. The last time we had a head-to-head between him and Biden he didn’t win and he’s done nothing good since.” She said she couldn’t support former President Donald Trump in a general election and would likely vote for President Biden.
