Rapper Nicki Minaj made a surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on Sunday, joining Erika Kirk on stage to bash California Gov. Gavin Newsom and praise President Donald Trump.
When Kirk, the CEO of the conservative organization Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk’s widow, asked Minaj about the “biggest surprise” she’s learned from the current administration, she responded, “I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president. I don’t know if he even knows this, but he’s given so many people hope.”
Before, she also took aim at Newsom, reading some of her past posts on X about the governor as Kirk laughed. “It only gets worse from here for you, buddy,” Minaj said. “It’s the end of the road for you, my love. Get on the nearest jet ski and let that beautiful hair blow in the wind. It will make you happier than this race that you will not win. Enjoy life. Peace.”
The “Super Bass” rapper has recently lashed out at Newsom, a possible 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, in part for his support of trans kids. She’s also appeared to align herself with Trump administration officials and policies in recent weeks.
At the Turning Point USA event, she also read another one of her X posts to the crowd, saying, “Imagine being the guy running on wanting to see trans kids. Haha. Not even a trans ADULT would run on that. Normal adults wake up & think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav. The Gav Nots. GavOUT. Send in the next guy, I’m bored.”
