A Gilmanton man has been arrested and charged after two men were injured in a shooting Saturday morning in Pittsfield, police said. New Hampshire State Police announced Sunday that Ryan Ashley, 31, of Gilmanton was arrested and charged with first degree assault and two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.New Hampshire State Police said around 11:50 a.m., Pittsfield police officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 54 Main St. When officers got there, they found two men injured in a parking lot. They were taken to Concord Hospital as police began to search for the suspect. State police did confirm the two men are in stable condition.The Gilmanton Police Association said Gilmanton Police coordinated with Pittsfield and Belknap Regional Special Operations Group.The suspected shooter was said to have been at a house in Gilmanton, the Gilmanton Police Association said. There was a heavy police presence in the Meadow Pond Road area. Victor Muzzey said. One witness said he and a few others hid inside a nearby bank’s vault for safety during the incident.”We heard the shooting outside. The girls locked the door very quickly and we went in the vault,” one witness said.Everyone involved is currently accounted for and cooperating with the investigation and there is no ongoing threat, police said. The FBI said they are aware and are coordinating with their partners. Ashley is being held at the Merrimack County Jail pending arraignment on Monday, state police said.
