1 person killed in officer-involved shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Jonesboro police are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, officers responded to a disturbance in the 1100 block of Jefferson Avenue around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday when the shooting occurred.

JPD said one person was killed in the shooting.

Police Chief Rick Elliott also told K8 News that at least one officer was taken to the hospital.

Arkansas State Police was called to take over the investigation.
